In stores today you can find New Year's cards for every taste. But the editors website believes that homemade ones are much warmer. After all, when we make something for someone with our own hands, we put our love into it.

We really liked this penguin, well thought out. You will need black and white cardstock (or white paper), an orange paper triangle, and 2 miniature snowflakes, which we all know how to cut out. Hugging snowman

Balloons

Balls are one of the main symbols of the New Year and Christmas. These are made from velvety colored paper and ribbon. But balls are such a win-win option that you can allow yourself to fantasize: make balls from patterned paper, wrapping paper, fabric, lace, cut out from a newspaper or a glossy magazine. And you can simply draw the strings.

Another option is to stick paper with a pattern on the inside of the card, and cut out circles on the outside with a sharp stationery knife.

Volumetric balls

For each of these balls you will need 3-4 identical circles of different colors. Fold each one in half and glue the halves to each other, and the two outer halves to the paper. Another option is colored stars or Christmas trees.

Multi-colored balls

Wonderful translucent balls are obtained using a regular eraser on a pencil. It’s worth starting with a pencil to outline the outline of the ball. Then dip the eraser into the paint and leave marks on the paper. Fun and beautiful.

How to do

Cut out one square of green paper with sides of 12 cm, 10 cm, 8 cm, 6 cm and 4 cm.

Fold one of them in half.

Slightly bend the figure crosswise in half so that there is a barely noticeable mark in the middle. Fold the upper left corner of the rectangle towards the center.

Now fold the upper right corner in the same way. You will get a triangle.

Make similar triangles from the remaining paper squares. Cut out a rectangle measuring 26 x 15 cm from red cardboard. Bend it in half crosswise. On yellow paper, draw many small stars and one larger one, cut them out.

Apply glue to the back of the small green triangle. Glue it to the top of the future card. Attach a large star higher up.

Lightly coat the same side of the triangle with glue. bigger size. Attach it so that the top slightly overlaps the previous glued triangle from the inside.

Glue all the other triangles in the same way, forming a Christmas tree.

Add paper stars to the cover.

New Year cards with a three-dimensional tree inside

• Blue double-sided cardboard;
• White paper;
• scissors;
• glue;
• green double-sided paper;
• yellow paper;
• pink paper.

How to do

Fold the blue cardstock in half crosswise. Cut the white paper approximately in half lengthwise using a wavy line. The figure should resemble snowdrifts. Coat it with glue and attach it to the bottom of the blue sheet. Fold the future card along the fold again.

Cut out a large circle from green paper. You can circle the plate or use a compass. Fold it in half and cut along the fold. You only need one half.

Fold this part in half and straighten it out. The fold will divide it into two parts. Fold one edge to the middle of one of them.

Turn over and fold this “triangle” towards the fold.

Continue folding the paper in the same way, turning it over each time. Cut out several small triangles along the fold.

Open the paper so that there is a convex part with holes in the middle. Glue the Christmas tree to the middle of the card.

DIY New Year cards with a snowman

What do you need

• Light pink cardboard;
• blue cardboard;
• ruler;
• pencil;
• scissors;
• glue;
• compass;
• white cardboard;
• blue felt-tip pen;
• bulky double-sided tape;
• brown cardboard;
• any colored or patterned cardboard;
• orange cardboard;
• black and red rhinestones (you can take felt-tip pens);
• figured hole punch “Snowflake”.

How to do

Cut a square 13 cm wide from light pink cardboard, and 12 cm wide from blue cardboard. If you want the card to open, make a rectangle measuring 26 x 13 cm from pink cardboard and bend it in half. Glue the blue piece onto the pink piece so that the sides have identical frames.

On white cardboard, draw circles with a radius of 4 cm, 3 cm and 2.5 cm. Cut them out.

Touch up the edges of the circles with a blue marker.

Glue two pieces of tape to the back of the large circle. Glue the circle into the center of the blue square. Draw branch handles on brown cardboard and attach them on the back side to the middle circle. Glue it in the center of the first one.

Glue two strips of colored or patterned cardboard to the back of the small circle. This will be the snowman's scarf. Attach the circle to the middle one closer to the top edge. Make buttons and eyes from black rhinestones, and a mouth from smaller red rhinestones. If there are no rhinestones, you can simply draw everything with a felt-tip pen. Cut out an elongated triangle from orange cardboard and glue the nose between the eyes.

DIY New Year cards with Christmas balls

What do you need

• Red cardboard;
• shiny silver foamiran;
• pencil or compass;
• scissors;
• bulky double-sided tape;
• colored tape;
• glue gun;
• thinner colored tape;
• thin brush;
• white gouache or watercolor.

How to do

Fold the cardboard in half. Cut a circle from foamiran. You can trace something round or use a compass.

Stick a couple of pieces of bulk tape on the back of the circle. Attach the detail to the cover of the card.

Make it from tape and glue it over the ball.

Make another bow from a thin ribbon and glue it onto the previous one.

Above the ball, paint a lot of white dots with gouache or watercolor.

DIY New Year cards with Santa Claus

What do you need

• White paper or cardboard;
• pencil;
• scissors;
• ruler;
• black paper or cardboard;
• orange paper or cardboard;
• peach paper or cardboard;
• red paper or cardboard;
• green paper or cardboard;
• stationery knife;
• hole puncher;
• light blue cardboard;
• glue;
• bulky double-sided tape;
• red rhinestones;
• pink paper or cardboard.

How to do

Fold the white paper in half crosswise and cut off half. Draw a beard on one part, as shown in the photo and video below, and cut it out.

On the other half of the white sheet, draw a mustache and cut it out.

From black paper, cut out a strip measuring 15 x 2.5 cm, from orange paper - a square with sides of 4 cm. On the square, draw two parallel lines at a distance from each other. Go through them with a knife. Punch three holes on the strip approximately in the middle with a hole punch. Insert the strip into the square to form a belt.

Cut out a rectangle measuring 9 x 4 cm from peach paper. Draw a leaf-like shape on it and cut it out.

From red paper, cut out two rectangles measuring 10 x 4 cm and 15 x 11 cm. On one narrow side great details slightly round the corners. On a small piece, draw the top of the cap, as shown in the photo and video below.

Cut two rectangles measuring 3 x 1.5 cm from green paper. Fold them in half lengthwise. Draw half of a long, embossed leaf on the fold. Cut and straighten. Fold a small square of white paper diagonally, then fold it twice more. Draw a semicircle in the corner and cut it out - you will get a flower.

Fold a piece of blue cardstock in half crosswise. Glue the large red piece to the bottom of the cover, with the curves facing up. Coat the top of the large white piece with glue, and attach several pieces of tape to the bottom. Glue the piece just above the middle. Where the tape is, there will be a beard.

Glue a red hat on top. Attach with tape to the side between the hat and beard White flower, there are green leaves on it, and rhinestones in the middle. Glue the peach detail under the hat.

Add black round paper eyes and a round pink nose. Attach the mustache to the tape below.

Glue a paper strap to the bottom of the card.
