Owners of straight hair want to curl it, owners of curls dream of straightening it - everyone knows this paradox. I have a different situation: as the owner of snow-white skin, I dream of a bronze tan. I tried to get him different ways, including long sunbathing at resorts (the last time it ended with solar dermatitis), all sorts of self-tanners of different price categories and, forgive me my fellow beauty experts, a solarium, but I never got the desired result. There was only one way left - instant tan in the salon - and I decided to try it. For the experiment I chose the LikeZagar studio.

Instant tanning is a service offered by tanning studios and beauty salons that can make you tanned in 15 minutes. Using a special tool, the technician evenly sprays sugarcane-based tanning lotion over your body, and you immediately become tanned. Before the procedure

Immediately after the appointment, I was told that my future tan largely depends on proper skin preparation, and they gave me recommendations. At least 12 hours before the procedure, you need to do a light scrub of the whole body (without oils and coffee) - I did this. The day before the procedure, it is not recommended to use creams and gels (due to possible high pH) - I conveniently forgot about this. But on the day of tanning, I did everything perfectly: I took a shower without gel or washcloth and did not use any body products, including deodorant. And, as I was advised, I came to the salon in loose, dark clothes, because immediately after the procedure the lotion can leave marks on the clothes.

How does the procedure work?

When I came to LikeZagar, the first thing I did was discuss with the stylist the shade I wanted to get. It seems that it looked very funny: I’m standing there, all snow-white, who was called “sour cream white” in childhood, and showing the master pictures of dark-skinned beauties on Instagram, answering her warnings with the irrevocable “I only want this!” I was warned that the shade I wanted was quite dark - it would look good on the skin, but when it started to fade from the face and hands, the contrast would be noticeable. This didn’t scare me, so I boldly undressed, put on disposable panties and stood in the original position - legs apart, arms in different directions. To avoid staining the feet, special stickers were glued to them, and the palms were smeared thick cream. Before applying the lotion, we did biopeeling - a special composition was sprayed all over the body, which removes impurities and degreases the skin. Then we started spraying the lotion itself - the master does it very carefully, in zones, telling how best to stand up and turn around: then you need to raise your arms up, then put one leg up, then the other, then turn your back, then hold your breath while the lotion is applied to face. However, this is not difficult to do, the main thing is not to touch the walls or body with your hands during all manipulations - the master monitors this. I was warned that the lotion itself was cool, but I didn’t get cold in the salon. Then the body was slightly dried with a hairdryer and immediately allowed to get dressed. I saw the tan immediately - more precisely, a thin white stripe from the elastic band of my panties; the rest of my body was noticeably darker. I was advised not to shower for eight hours—for me that meant no bathing at night—no crying, no sweating, and no even washing my hands (you can wipe your palms with tissues) and allowed me to get dressed.

Feelings after

How sticky it was! Well, it's just very, very sticky. I was riding on the subway and dreaming of the moment when I could take off my clothes at home. The jacket I was wearing was more or less roomy, and the jeans were not the tightest, but not oversized either. Mentally, I said goodbye to the tan, because I was sure that there would be streaks and stains - after all, immediately after the procedure I put on a sweater, jeans, and a jacket, and even stuck myself in the warm subway... After an hour and a half, the stickiness became tolerable, and after two or three times I saw how the tan appeared. The skin became darker before our eyes, while the color was rich, natural (no orange!) and perfectly even. To celebrate, I went to bed without showering at night - this could have been done, but there was a risk that the tan would not be as dark as I wanted. And I wasn’t even scared by the master’s warning that brown stains might remain on the bed linen...

Result

This morning I woke up dark-skinned. Very! And with stains on the bed linen, yes. But they washed off easily, by the way. And my skin was not at all sticky and very tanned. I meticulously examined myself and did not find a single stain, not a single smudge or trace - everything was really very even. After the first shower, the color faded a little, but I was still very tanned. Well, then I simply admired myself in every mirror, and everything on me looked brighter - both makeup and clothes. It was wonderful!
To make the tan last longer, I avoided the pool, baths, washed without a washcloth, and applied moisturizer to my body twice a day, as I was advised in the studio. The tan began to fade after about five days, primarily from the hands and face. But then I touched up with one of my self-tanners, and everything looked decent. In the salon, by the way, they sell lotions for home use to “touch up”, and they do a separate express tanning of only the face and hands - this good options extend the life of your tan. After two weeks, there was still some color left on my body, but my hands and face were completely washed off, so I’m going to repeat the procedure soon.
