Indian designer James Siemiong is the same man who reclaimed LadyBWear's status with these incredibly high platform boots he created in 2004. Not only did he make them so tall, but he also used black and red leather and denim as the material.

He managed to find three models to show off the shoes to prove that they could actually be worn. However, these boots come with a warning that states that “the shoe manufacturer accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained by customers while using the boots.” Creepy.

How to emphasize your femininity?

High heels visually lengthen the legs, make the figure slimmer and the posture more majestic, so it is not surprising that the popularity of heels has not faded for many years.

In the modern fashion world, high heels emphasize femininity and sexuality, but not everyone knows that they were originally intended for men. Europe in the Middle Ages was buried in mud; it was impossible to move along the streets without wearing wooden shoes with thick soles. These shoes were invented only for practical use, so they had neither beauty nor attractiveness. The cost of such shoes was high, so only noble men could afford to wear these shoes.

The first woman in heels

The first woman to use heels in her shoes was Catherine de Medici. By nature she was not tall, so she did not look harmonious against the background of her husband. The way out of this situation was high-heeled shoes, which slightly equalized the difference in height between the spouses. But this innovation did not gain popularity at court, and only by the seventeenth century did women at court appreciate the beauty of these shoes. When shorter versions of dresses came into fashion at court, legs became more open to men's eyes, heels gained stunning popularity and became firmly established in every woman's wardrobe.

Over time, different shapes were invented for the heel, making it higher or lower, but no modern person can completely abandon heels. The stiletto heel was invented in France and became a classic in the modeling business as the most popular heel shape.

The fashion for high heels sometimes reaches complete absurdity. Modern designers, in pursuit of extraordinary solutions, completely forget about the practical side of the issue. In 2010, Romanian designer Mihai Albu created the largest heels for one of the shoe models from his own collection. Heel height is 30cm. The shoes are created entirely by hand, decorated with semi-precious stones and have a simply dazzling and glamorous look. While no buyer has been found for this pair of shoes, they decorate the window of a fashion house.

Higher heels!

In Britain, shoes with a slightly smaller heel, 23 cm high, were released. The Sky Heel company offers customers this model in two of the most fashionable colors of this season, red and gold. But, despite the inexpensive cost (only $100), this model is not very popular among ordinary buyers.

If we consider shoes without wedges, then the leader among the designers who created the largest heels was Christian Louboutin. The basis for this shoe model was taken from ballet pointe shoes and placed on a 20 cm high heel.

The Guinness Book of Records includes shoes that hardly anyone would risk wearing in everyday life. This is a breathtakingly high wedge heel and the same unrealistically high heel, which will raise its owner above the ground by as much as 43 cm.

The line between beauty and absurdity

For all female representatives who want to give their image the most feminine and sexy look, it is important to remember that the line between beauty and absurdity is very thin and everything is good in moderation. Wearing heels in everyday life is not always comfortable and safe. A very high heel exposes its owner to the risk of falling and seriously injuring the leg; moreover, orthopedists do not recommend constantly wearing high-heeled shoes, as this negatively affects a woman’s health. The most optimal heel height is 2–3 cm; if the heel is higher, then it is recommended to wear it no more than three hours a day. Every extra centimeter of heel puts a load on the spine, which can be equated to 10 kg. In addition, when wearing heels, the natural function of the foot is disrupted, the muscles and tendons stop working properly, creating extra stress on the knees and the circulatory system of the legs, which in turn leads to varicose veins. Frequently wearing high heels changes the angle of the bones and pelvis, which can provoke a number of female diseases.

What about health?

When choosing shoes for frequent use, it is best to follow the recommendations of experts, who advise choosing shoes that do not have a hard sole, have a stable heel, and must have an instep support. Shoes should not be narrow; during the first fitting, you should try to stand on your toes in the chosen shoes; if you cannot lift the heel off the floor, then you should choose shoes with a lower heel; this option will not be suitable for the person. It is also important to take into account the time of year; for the autumn-winter period it is best to choose shoes with lower and thicker heels, but on warm days you can afford to go out in stiletto heels.

To shine at parties, having glamorous high-heeled shoes is a must, but in everyday life such shoes may not be appropriate, so it is best to divide the function of shoes into evening and casual ones.

Shoes with heels gained popularity in the pre-war years of the last century, forever leaving their “wedge-shaped” mark in fashion history. And for almost a century now, heels have been clicking inexorably along all the avenues and streets of the world. During this time, they changed many times and even changed their location, turning “back to front.” Dutch artist Leni van der Vyver helped them develop their thesis work, and designer Rene van der Berg brought her ideas to life, sewing an eccentric pair with heels in the front. Heels have ceased to be an attribute of purely women's shoes and men's shoes with high heels are becoming increasingly popular.

In the 50s of the last century, the first “hairpins” were created in the Neapolitan workshops of S. Ferragamo. Since then, the height of heels has inexorably tended to infinity. World designers staged a real race, creating their “skyscrapers” of frightening height. A permanent admirer of extremely high shoes is the famous shoe fashion trendsetter from France, Christian Louboutin, whose heels of 13 cm, and later 20 cm, are twice listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

The Romanian shoemaker Mihai Albu is not far behind him with his architectural structure. The record peak of his heels in 2010 was equal to 12 inches, which is equal to about 31 cm. The shocking height was achieved by red shoes with laces from the English company LadyBWear Limited with an incredible 28 centimeter (11 inch) platform and a 40 cm (16 inch) heel. , until recently considered record holders.

And the incomparable leadership in overcoming stratospheric heights was earned by the Indian designer James Siemiong, who managed to move LadyBWear Limited from the sunny Olympus. His creation is impressive with its dizzying height of more than half a meter! In addition, to the delight of high fashion in every sense, the miracle boots are made of black leather, red leather and denim. Such boots are quite possible to wear, as three of his models have proven, although boots are produced with the inscription “The shoe manufacturer is not responsible for injuries received while wearing them.”

Photos of the highest heels

Video of the highest heels

Almost every woman has high heels. Which is not surprising, because this wardrobe element instantly increases your height, lengthens your legs, makes your back straighter, your chest higher, and your gait light and flying, if, of course, you know how to walk on them.

Fortunately, shoes with medium heels of 6-9 centimeters are available to almost everyone. Only true admirers of “haute couture” can walk on taller ones, from 10 centimeters. Fashion designers adore such shoes, and doctors purse their lips contemptuously, frightening them with osteoparosis, osteochondrosis, varicose veins, thrombophlebitis and other diseases. But women know that real beauty is worth it. Just imagine the sacrifices the biggest heels in the world require. By the way, how tall are they?

21 centimeters: pointe shoes with stiletto heels

Famous designer Christian Louboutin has always had a weakness for high heels. But ballet, in particular, weightless ballerinas on pointe shoes, inspired him for a new collection, the highlight of which were 21-centimeter high stilettos. In them, the woman touches the floor only with her very toes, arching her foot vertically upward.

The shoes are made of high quality silk and decorated with Swarovski crystals, like the most exquisite pointe shoes in the world. They were put up for sale at the end of a charity evening raising funds for the English National Ballet.

30 centimeters: shoes from the shoe architect

Mihai Albu is a world-famous designer from Romania whose weakness is extremely high shoes. The highest heel that a woman most often wears is rarely longer than 10 centimeters. Mihai has shoes that are double and triple that value.

He achieves this using a lot of tricks: high, double and triple platforms, decorative inserts in the form of balls, cubes and other figures. But his absolute record is 30 centimeters. Such a pair of shoes will cost the owner $1,800, but this did not bother fashionistas: immediately after introducing this model, he received several dozen orders.

Mihai has been designing such shoes for over 20 years. In the fashion world, he even received the nickname “shoe architect,” which he is deservedly proud of.

43 centimeters: a Guinness record

But the biggest heel in the world was not made by a Romanian designer. The record recorded by the Guinness Book of Records exceeds it by a maximum of 13 centimeters. Shoes with a breathtaking stiletto heel and an impressive platform will lift their owner 43 centimeters up. True, it is still quite difficult to say who will dare to conquer such a height, but, for sure, there will be amateurs.

Now you know that high heels are not uncommon. Of course, you won’t see women wearing such shoes in everyday life. But in the world of high (in every sense) fashion they are very, very popular.

Greetings, my dears! I think everyone knows how shoes can dramatically change an outfit. Ordinary jeans and a T-shirt become a chic and stylish set if you wear them with bright and original shoes. And for short girls, heels are our everything. However, these are the most uncomfortable shoes, especially if you walk in them all day. In this article I will tell you how to choose a comfortable heel: the appropriate height so that the shoes are as comfortable as possible. And finally, I’ll tell you what to combine with shoes with different heel heights to look stylish and interesting!

Of course, trying to find the same pair that will be convenient and comfortable like house slippers is completely useless. But pain after wearing shoes also appears for a reason. It indicates that the height is chosen incorrectly. And flat shoes can be no less harmful than high heels. I suppose many people have noticed that in some shoes you can run all day, but in others your feet fall off after half an hour?

Why are some heels more comfortable than others?

The thing is that our feet have a natural instep angle, and according to it, each girl has her own ideal heel height. You can define it yourself. Walk around the house without shoes and stand on tiptoes. Which is more comfortable for you: walking straight on your toes or on the balls of your feet? This is the size that will be comfortable for you.

Also affected is the mobility of your ankles, which depends on the size of the cavity between your ankle and heel (sinus tarsi). In this place there is an interosseous ligament. Therefore, those who have these ligaments less mobile feel better in shoes with flat soles, and accordingly, those who have them more mobile can easily walk in stiletto heels.

How to determine heel height?

So, here are simple instructions on how to choose the right heel. Let me tell you right away that you will need an assistant. So quickly invite your girlfriends, sisters, mother, especially since they will also need it (a reason for a bachelorette party!).

The position of the foot in which the leg needs to relax will help you determine.

  1. Take off your shoes and sit upright in a chair. The seat should be level and your feet should be on the floor at an angle of 90 degrees. Back straight. You should be comfortable.
  2. Extend one leg in front of you in a straight line, while the other remains in its original position.
  3. Now relax your foot and ankle on your extended leg. You will see how the foot goes back a little, that is, this height is comfortable for you. Or perhaps your entire foot will straighten out, which means flat shoes will be more comfortable for you.
  4. Take a measuring tape and carefully measure the distance from the edge of your heel to the tip of your big toe (hold the tape parallel to the floor). Then draw a mental line perpendicularly from the ball of your foot to the tape. The number of centimeters on the tape will ultimately be your ideal height.

Little secrets

To avoid various deformities and problems with the feet, such as bowing, bunions, calluses and others, knowing the ideal height is not enough. It is important that the toe part of the shoe is free enough, it should not press or squeeze. Often this part is very narrow, which leads to the development of various foot diseases.

In addition, you should not lose your balance or feel uncomfortable. There should be no tension in your legs so as not to fall. The heel should be positioned towards the front of the foot to support the ankle.

A narrow instep of your shoes will help relieve tension and stress from your toes. Thus, they will support the arch of the foot, preventing it from sliding down and causing pain.

Summarizing all of the above, when choosing shoes, consider:

  1. Choose a well-constructed pair that will support your arch.
  2. There should be enough room for your toes in the toe box, so choosing the right size of heeled shoes is very important.
  3. You shouldn't lose your balance in the pair of shoes you choose.
  4. So it turns out that good shoes cannot be cheap. After all, remember that, unlike shoes, you only have feet and cannot be replaced or thrown away. So take care of your feet.

which heel to choose?

  • Heel 2- 4 cm

This height is comfortable for the largest number of people. It lifts a little, the leg is comfortable, there is support for the foot, but there are no problems with maintaining balance. In addition, “kitten heels” look very cute and feminine, especially when combined with retro-style looks. Some low heels look great with different ankle decorations.

  • Heel 5-6 cm

In this case, you have both stability and height. It looks more flirtatious than low ones, but at the same time chaste. Mid-height shoes look great with an open toe, tapered heel, and ankle and heel straps. Such shoes would be appropriate in the office and at an informal party.

  • Heel 7-9 cm

Suitable for almost any occasion: from the office to the red carpet. If this is your ideal height, then you are lucky. It is suitable for light and relaxed wedges and elegant pumps.

If it’s a little too high for you, then wear these shoes for a short time and to events where you will mostly be sitting.

  • Heel 10-11 cm

This height is both chic and absurd at the same time due to the unnatural bend of the foot. In such shoes it is easy to create the image of a fatal seductress, just make sure there is enough space for your toes in the toe box or choose models with an open toe. But you should avoid mules and other models that do not support the arch of your feet, otherwise you risk breaking not only your legs, but also your neck.

  • Heel 12 cm and above

These types of shoes should be avoided altogether. It places your legs in an unnatural position, and there is no balance or stability. These heels look simply absurd, crazy and ridiculous. They will not add either femininity or elegance, but you are guaranteed a whole bunch of foot injuries and diseases. Take care of your feet.

  • Platform

If you can’t live without extremely high shoes, then the best solution would be a platform. On a 3.4 cm platform, a 12 cm heel will feel like an 8-9 cm one, and this is more comfortable and stable.

On the other hand, the wrong platform can make you unsteady and your legs will twist. So it's just trial and error. You need to try on shoes until you find a pair in which you can easily maintain balance and your legs will not give way.

Another pitfall

The fact is that in heels the gait is much slower, so in the long term the knees and ligaments in these places begin to be injured. So if you don't wear heels every day and alternate them with flats, you'll be fine. But if you have any problems with your knee joints, be careful.

By the way, if you haven’t read it yet, then look at my articles “” and “”. There's a lot of useful information there!

With this I will conclude my post. Determine your ideal height and wear only comfortable shoes. Your legs should be beautiful. Don't forget to subscribe to updates, share links and discuss with friends on social networks.
