This is still no reason to rush out of town or to the south. The January holidays, with their leisurely pace and festive mood, are an excellent chance to get to know the city better, warm up on the skating rink and even learn a couple of exotic skills, from manufacturing wooden toys before the creation of the shadow theater. The iz.ru portal compiled a guide to the capital's main entertainment in early January.

Walk around the city

New Year's holidays are a time when, in order to have fun and feel the holiday atmosphere, you just need to walk along the streets. Moreover, the weather these days in the capital is expected to be, to put it mildly, not cold.

Those who love slides but don’t want to go to the center should pay attention to Poklonnaya Hill - there you can not only look at copies of the world’s main architectural masterpieces made of ice, but you can also slide down the walls of the icy 12-meter Kremlin.

Become a puppet master and get to know Moscow

As part of the same Journey to Christmas festival, not only performances, but also master classes will be held in the capital at various venues. On Revolution Square, for example, everyone can learn about the old traditions of celebrating the New Year and Christmas. At this time, children can be sent to a carpentry workshop - there they will learn how to make Christmas tree decorations and candlesticks from wood.

Fairs on the streets of Moscow

Girls may be more interested in the workshop on Tverskaya, where they learn how to make dolls for home theaters. And on Klimentovsky Lane you can learn about the skills of set design and dramaturgy or try your hand at creating a home shadow theater and puppet theater.

In addition, during the holidays there will be a special excursion program in the capital. You can find an option for every taste - from getting to know the little-known history of the central streets to walking through the main cemeteries of the capital. Most excursions will be free, but you must register for them in advance.

Take part in performances

This year, a trip to the theater or to a New Year's show can be combined with a walk. So, at the skating rink in Novopushkinsky Park, ice ballets will be shown every day. They promise, among other things, new interpretations of “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, “Snow White” and “Cipollino”. On Tverskaya Square, fairy tales from different countries will be shown, brought to the capital by artists from European theaters. And on New Arbat, which will turn into little Scandinavia, you can see Andersen's fairy tales.

Premiere of the ice ballet “Cinderella” in Novopushkinsky Square

Those who want to be in the very center of theatrical action should go to Manezhnaya - there, in the “Magic Forest”, every day of the festival the immersive performance “12 Months” will unfold, in which everyone can take part. Another similar action, but with a Japanese accent, can be seen in Klimentovsky Lane.

Go to the skating rink or become a snowboarder

Those who stay in Moscow for the New Year holidays have a chance to go to the largest outdoor skating rink in the world and, concurrently, the main skating rink in the country. This year, more than 20 thousand square meters of ice tracks were poured on the territory of VDNKh, and winter sports became its main theme.

Muscovites at the skating rink

The GUM skating rink will be operating on Red Square for several years in a row, and this winter a Stereo skating rink has opened in Gorky Park with optical illusions and light shows, and in Sokolniki you can go on skates and plunge into the atmosphere of a music hall. In addition, almost every park in the capital has opened its own skating rinks, so if you wish, you can simply choose the one that will be close to home.

But if skating is a familiar thing for city residents, then you won’t always see a real snowboarding park in the center of the capital. This winter you can try yourself as a snow slope conqueror on Novy Arbat, where professional instructors with all the necessary equipment are waiting for those who want to ski.

Tour the museums

77 Moscow museums will be free during the New Year holidays. Among them are the New Manege, where an exhibition dedicated to the work of Eldar Ryazanov is held, the “Museum of Moscow” on Zubovsky Boulevard, the memorial apartment of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin and the house-museum of Marina Tsvetaeva, the Museum of Russian Harmonica, the Fashion Museum and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. Look full list and you can find out the museum program.

Christmas tree decorations made at the oldest Russian enterprise “Yelochka” in Klin

Many estate museums and nature reserves will be free. So, you don’t have to buy a ticket to visit Tsaritsyno or Kolomenskoye. In the first one you will not only be able to see the estate itself, but also get to the exhibition “Dachnoe Tsaritsyno”. In "Kolomenskoye" holidays One of the most New Year's exhibitions will be open. In the palace they will talk about the history of the production of the famous glass Christmas tree decorations, which have been made by craftsmen in Klin for more than a hundred years.

Visitors will be presented with about 800 exhibits from museums in the capital and Moscow region, as well as from private collections. In addition to the actual toys different years, there you can see, for example, a costume and a headdress decorated with blown glass, and also learn about the production process of your favorite Christmas tree classics. New Year is one of the most anticipated holidays. The New Year's mood comes into its own a month before December 31 and every day increases the anticipation of the happiest night of the year. So that the holiday passes brightly and leaves behind Nice memories, you need to know in advance how you will spend New Year's Eve.

2017, the year of the Fire Rooster, promises to be bright and eventful. In order for good luck to accompany you everywhere, you need to celebrate the year cheerfully, brightly and warmly, because folk sign reads: “How you celebrate the New Year is how you will spend it.” But if we know in advance how to set the table for the New Year 2017, what to give to family and what to give to friends, then not everyone knows exactly how to spend New Year’s Eve.

Celebrating the New Year with family: truthful fortune telling

First of all, New Year - family celebration. Most often, New Year's Eve is spent with family and close relatives: this symbolizes family unity and the strength of family ties.

After the traditional part of the evening, you need to come up with something equally interesting for everyone present. New Year's fortune telling can be great entertainment. For them you will need:

  • pre-cut strips of paper;
  • pen;
  • a bag made of thick fabric.

Fortune telling must be prepared ahead of time: calculate the number of paper strips so that there are two predictions for each person present. Write on each strip of paper new year wishes and prophecies. They should all be positive, because the New Year is a holiday of goodness.

Examples of predictions:

  • “Financial success awaits you in the New Year”;
  • “Expect a new addition to the family”;
  • "You will go to beautiful trip»;
  • “Your problem will be solved soon”;
  • “Great love awaits you”;
  • “The Fire Rooster will drive away all diseases.”

Put all the predictions in a bag and let everyone present take out a piece of paper. It’s more fun to read the results out loud and discuss among each other: such a pastime will entertain everyone present and give faith in the New Year’s miracle.

Celebrating the New Year of the Rooster with friends: games for any company

New Year's Eve in the company of friends is also an extremely common tradition. We surround ourselves with people with whom we share good memories and common interests. You can have fun in a friendly company with the help of fun team games or calm games.

Fanta."A game for all times." Each person present must give one item of their own to the leader chosen by a general vote. All things are put into a bag, hat or any opaque container. The presenter, without looking, pulls out one thing and either himself assigns a task for its owner, or instructs everyone to come up with a task together. The owner of the Fanta must complete the task.

Crocodile. Another extremely interesting game on imagination and understanding of each other. Using lots or voting, a presenter is selected, who must be the first to show with gestures any phenomenon, term or character: for example, Brownie. The one who guessed the word first receives the next task from the presenter and replaces him “on stage”. Tricks and difficult tasks will only add to the general fun and make New Year's Eve unforgettable.

Cards. The good old card game will not leave anyone indifferent. The choice is huge: from “Fool” to poker. The main thing is to explain the rules again before starting the game and not to bet money, decorations and New Year's gifts.

There are a great many scenarios for a great New Year's Eve, but the most important thing is that everyone feels needed and loved, because the New Year is a time of belief in miracles, warmth and only positive emotions. We wish you a happy and joyful New Year. Be happy and don't forget to press the buttons and
