How to sew flowers from ribbons. DIY ribbon flowers

Satin ribbons are one of the most affordable and effective materials, loved and used by many needlewomen. And this is not surprising, because the atlas proper care can be very durable, which means that products made from it will delight you with their beauty for a long time.

In addition, its consumption during operation is quite small, and the process of manufacturing all kinds of original accessories, exclusive interior decorations, decorative elements or unusual gifts‒ simple and accessible even for beginners.

If you haven't worked with ribbons yet, give it a try and see how easy and beautiful it can be. Moreover, there are many master classes that instruct in detail how to make various crafts from ribbons with your own hands.

From simple to complex

“Ribbon creativity,” in addition to its originality and beauty, also attracts with its diversity, because satin ribbons can be used both to make simple trinkets and to create real masterpieces or objects of art.

For example, here are the most simple options ribbon crafts that even your child can make:

  • bows or flowers - these can be hair clips, decoration for a hoop, brooches, etc.;
  • baubles and bracelets;
  • various decorations for decorating gifts or home interiors - flowers, figurines, animals.

Crafts made from ribbons can also be complex, made using various well-known techniques (“kanzashi”, “artichoke” and others):

  • entire panels and paintings are embroidered with satin ribbons, and aromatic sachets are made from them;
  • they are used to decorate Easter eggs and wedding paraphernalia - making bouquets, decorating wine glasses, gift bottles of champagne, pillows for rings, etc.;
  • Using ribbons and soap with your own hands, you can create entire baskets with flowers that will decorate any interior or make an excellent gift.

And these are not all possible crafts made from this material. For inspiration, you can use existing ideas in master classes or come up with something special of your own.

Satin ribbon rose

Of course, you can start with the simplest thing. To easily make unusual and complex things, you need to understand the basic techniques for creating products from satin ribbons. And the best way to see this is step by step in the master class.

Step by step description

  1. Although tulips, dandelions, hyacinths, primroses, and many other flowers are rolled from ribbons, the most popular flower among craftswomen is the rose. Roses are most often made using the kanzashi technique. For the flower, choose a ribbon of the desired color five centimeters wide. Cut the edge of the tape evenly and melt it with a lighter so that it does not fray. After this, place the ribbon so that its wrong side is facing up.
  2. Fold the upper left corner down (in the pictures of the master class there are arrows and the fold lines are indicated by dotted lines), and fold the lower left corner to the right twice.
  3. Take a needle and thread of the same color as your ribbon. Secure the resulting fold (the thread should be long, because you will then have to stitch the entire tape).
  4. Connect the two layers of ribbon by stitching from the fixed place to the right (there should be about one or two millimeters from the edge) and stop at the edge of the top ribbon.
  5. Fold the long edge of the ribbon to the left (in the direction of the arrow), and then the entire ribbon up to the right at an angle.
  6. Make sure that the right sides match and you have three layers. Sew them together, working upwards from the bottom corner. Then stop, but do not cut the thread, but tuck the ribbon down, as shown by the dotted line in the photo master class.
  7. Then turn it at an angle to the left and stitch again, only to the left along the top edge. Having connected the three layers, turn the ribbon in the direction of the arrow to the right, then at an angle downwards, and continue stitching.
  8. When there are already enough pleats (this will take approximately fifty centimeters of tape), sew stitches along the edge of the last of them, capturing two layers. Trim off the excess material and melt it with fire, but leave the thread.
  9. Tighten the thread and you will get a whole row of petals. Start forming a bud. The first petal must be made from the very beginning of the ribbon, pulling the thread where you secured the two folds. Twist it around these folds and you will have the center of the flower.
  10. Take another needle and thread and pull the bottom edges of the petals together. Then form a second petal, twist it onto the bud and hem it at the bottom in the same way.
  11. Continue on the same principle, adjusting the petals using thread tension. If you get a larger bunch on the bud, then your rose will be larger, looking like a beautiful blossoming flower. Or you can do a little tension, and then a delicate bud will come out.
  12. Then twist the thread to the end and hem each petal from below. Carefully secure and trim the thread. Spread your flower.

Depending on how you want to use the rose, its bottom can be sealed with a piece of felt or ribbon, sewn to leaves, attached to a safety pin (for a brooch), a hairpin or hoop, etc. Such a delicate and beautiful product will be an excellent decoration or a gift for spring holidays like March 8th.

Little roses - simple

Ribbon poppy

In the master classes there are other ways to create various flowers with your own hands. For example, you can separately cut many parts from satin ribbon, shaped like leaves and petals. Then burn them, form a flower and glue the elements together, decorating them with beads or sequins.

Bride's bouquet of ribbons

The made flowers can then be sewn onto fabric or embroidered with satin ribbons directly on the canvas, making various paintings and panels. Using the same technique, it is easy to make many roses for the bride's wedding bouquet. All that remains is to make the base on which the flowers will be attached.

Easter eggs with ribbon decor

Wanting to decorate Easter eggs, you can either simply cover the workpiece with fabric and then decorate it with flowers or ribbon bows, or use the “artichoke” technique - fold ribbons different color in the manner of fish scales and glue them to the surface of the egg.

You can paste over balls in a similar way, and then you will get original ones. Christmas decorations or just interior decorations.

Ribbon basket for a bouquet

To make an unusual basket, take a piece of oval soap and attach safety pins on it in a circle at the top and bottom (their number should be the same, and they should be placed on the soap at a distance of approximately six to eight millimeters from each other - just stick them into the bar of soap ).

Then take a ribbon (not very wide - about one to two centimeters), secure one edge with a pin and braid the walls of the basket as follows: hook the ribbon to the top pin, then lower it down, hook it to the bottom one and lift it up, continuing further until all walls will not be braided.

You will have a long end left at the bottom - you will need it to braid the bottom edge and form the side. Then you will need to move it up to decorate the top edge. Use the remaining ends of the ribbon to create a bow. Use wire to make a basket and a handle and braid it with a ribbon of the same color or make an assembly out of it.

Attach the ends of the handle to the soap and decorate the basket. You can put primroses in it and give it to a friend or mother on March 8, or decorate it in any other way.

Making such beautiful and unusual crafts- a great way to show your imagination and creativity and make nice gifts yourself or loved ones.

Video master classes

If you are thinking about how to make flowers from ribbons, the master class will show you a simple technique for creating this beauty with your own hands. Don’t be afraid to try, create something new, it’s not difficult at all. You just need to apply a little patience, your creative ideas and the result will pleasantly please you!

Satin ribbon flower

  • satin ribbon 5 cm;
  • scissors;
  • matches;
  • tweezers;
  • glue;
  • step-by-step technique with photos.

To create one flower, you will have to make 5 petals. To do this, cut 5 rectangular strips of the same size. To prevent the ribbon from unraveling, treat its edges with matches. Fold the square in half and sew it together. You can solder the corners using glue, thread or matches.

We solder the resulting corners to the core. Something similar to a trapezoid should come out.

Now, you will need to cut about 5 cm from the petal. In order to do this, you need to pinch the cut with tweezers and seal it with matches.

The first petal is ready. We make the remaining petals in the same way; there should be five of them in total. The most important thing here is not to rush; the more often you practice, the better the result will be. Look carefully at the photo and you will succeed!

When all the petals are ready, do the following. Take a thread that matches the ribbon and place the petals in the shape of a flower.

Slowly sew the petals together (we sew them in the place where we treated them with matches).

And finally, your flower is ready! You can decorate anything you want with such beauty. For example, you can attach a pin to the back and get a brooch, decorate a hoop with it, or attach a hairpin to the back of a flower to get a magnificent hair decoration. From a composition of such flowers you can create a bouquet as a gift that will give everyone a good mood and a lot of positivity!

In addition to the steps described above, you can watch a video on how to create this beautiful flower from tapes:

Look at a few more ribbon color options with step-by-step photos.

Master class 1

Instructions

What you will need for work:

  • a meter piece of satin ribbon;
  • threads to match the color of the material;
  • glue gun;
  • matches and candle.

Progress:

  1. Treat the edges of the tape with a candle, holding the tape with the back edge towards you, move 2 cm away from the edge. Bend the tape with the outer side towards you at an angle (Figure 1) Then turn the tape away from you at the bottom at a slight slope (Figure 2) Secure with a pin.
  2. Starting from the end of the ribbon, sew straight stitches; down, to the right then along the edge (Figure 3).
  3. Then we bend the tape again, first towards ourselves, then away from ourselves (Figures 4 and 5). Then turn the tape again, first down and then up. Sew tightly (thread forward) along the border. Make bends again, the more there are, the more voluminous the flower will be, you can make from 5 to 12.
  1. Then treat the edges with a candle (Figure 7). Pull the thread to collect the ribbon (Figure 8).
  2. We begin to form the middle of the flower, tightly twisting the tape, securing the bends with hot glue (Figures 9 and 10).
  3. We continue to form the rose, constantly fixing it with glue at the border (Figures 11 and 12). Figure 13 shows the back of the flower.

If you decide to make a hairpin or brooch out of a rose, you will need a prepared circle of felt, to which you will glue the flower and only after that will you fix the mount.

Master class 2

Instructions

The materials you will need are the same as in the first method.

  1. We process the edges of the tape using a candle. We bend it towards ourselves, moving away from the edge of the ribbon about 5 cm at an angle of about 60 degrees and roll up the middle of the rose (Figure 1).
  2. We bend the longer end of the tape upwards from ourselves, we need them to meet perpendicularly (Figure 4), secure with a pin.
  3. We fold the ribbons, strictly edge to edge (Figure 5). Sew small stitches closer to the edge, then remove the pins.

The color of the threads should be similar to the ribbon; the photo shows a contrasting option for clarity.

  1. Next, we continue to perform the same actions as in the previous two paragraphs (Figure 6).
  1. Gather the ribbon not very tightly, pulling the thread a little. Secure the thread (Figure 7 and 8).
  2. Form a flower from the collected ribbon. Starting from the center of the rose (Figures 9 and 10). Roll up a rosette from the assembled ribbon, starting from the pre-made flower core (Figures 9 and 10). We fix the flower with glue or stitch it tightly with thread.

Master class 3

Instructions

The materials are the same as in the previous methods.

  1. We process the edges with a lighter or a candle, make a bend about one and a half centimeters from the edge diagonally (Figure 1) Fold the resulting fold into left side, having made three turns, see Figure 2. This will be the core of the flower. Secure the resulting folds with thread or glue.
  2. Then do the following manipulations; one hand holds the flower from below, the other pushes the ribbon towards itself, then wraps around the center of the rose. We bend the tape to the bottom again, make another turn around the core, and secure it at the base.
  1. We make the remaining petals in the same way until the rose becomes large, fixing all the folds.

These are the beautiful flowers we learned to make! From them you can make beautiful bouquet and put them in a vase, decorate the interior with them, or use them as an accessory in clothing, especially if you add a bow to them. Also, using this scheme you can make gorgeous flowers from organza.

How to make flowers - roses from ribbons

Making flowers from satin ribbons with your own hands is a fascinating craft. An original rose, as in the photo, can decorate a hairstyle or dress. They do it different ways, we offer one of them. If everything is not clear, watch the video. For production you will need a tape measuring 25 mm. You need to cut 8 pieces 7 and 5 centimeters long, burn the ends.

Start work like this:

  • make 4 petals from a 5 cm blank;
  • bend one end at an angle of 45;
  • the bent edge is heated with the base and fixed with tweezers;
  • repeat on the other side.

How the middle and outer petals and leaves are made:

  • 4 pieces of 5 cm each are also folded in both directions, but they should be sewn together with threads, making a seam with a slight gather;
  • Using the same technology, 8 outer petals are made from pieces measuring 7 cm;
  • leaves are cut from a green blank 2.5x5 cm;
  • burn around the perimeter, making bends;
  • veins are made by bending the leaf, heated, and squeezed hot.

Assemble the finished product in the following sequence:

  • carefully roll the first piece into a tube and fix it with glue;
  • sequentially glue the next 3 blanks around - this is the middle of the bud;
  • secure the middle and outer petals, distributing them around the perimeter, forming a blossoming bud;
  • All that remains is to glue the leaves and secure with a pin.

How to make a flower from a ribbon using the kanzashi technique - daisy

The decorations will be beautiful and elegant - flowers made from satin ribbons with your own hands. To create such a spectacular daisy as in the photo, you will need to make 40 small blanks.

If you have questions about technology, watch the video. The craft can be used as a hairpin or an elegant brooch. For production you will need:

  • 1.2 m of white tape 12 mm wide;
  • green, yellow – 6 mm wide – 0.3 m each;
  • 2 pieces of white felt, shaped like a circle with a diameter of 20 mm;
  • barrette.

Start making artificial chamomile like this:

  • cut 40 white blanks 3 cm each;
  • corners are cut off from one edge;
  • melt with a lighter, making the petal rounded;
  • the bottom is folded overlapping, right side inward, melted;
  • on a felt piece, draw a circle 5 mm from the edge;
  • the petals are glued along the mark, in a circle;
  • along the inner circumference they are fixed in a checkerboard pattern.

To create stamens with your own hands, you will need a needle with a wide eye and a narrow yellow ribbon. Do it in this order:

  • a needle and ribbon are inserted from below into the center of the flower;
  • pulled out at the top;
  • wrap the ribbon around the needle one turn, stick it down, fixing the loop;
  • repeat the operation in a circle from the center to the edges until the weaving covers the inner surface;
  • for leaves, cut the green blank into 3 parts, fold it in half, and press the fold;
  • the ends are crossed and fixed with fire;
  • glued to the bottom of the chamomile;
  • insert a hairpin into the second circle of felt;
  • glued to the flower.

Lush flower made from satin ribbon with your own hands - peony

You can learn how to make flowers from ribbons for beginners using the example of peony. It will look like in the photo. You can decorate your hair or an elegant dress with peony. Make one large flower using the proposed technology; if necessary, refer to the video tutorial to clarify all the details. To make it you will need 25 mm satin blanks.

Strips needed:

  • yellow – 1.4 m – cut 22 strips 6 cm long;
  • pink - 1.3 m - make 27 blanks of 4.5 cm each;
  • burgundy - 3.2 m - cut 18 strips 6 cm long and 38 strips 5.5 cm long.

A peony is made using the following technology:

  • cut off the end of the yellow workpiece at a slight angle;
  • both sides are burned;
  • screw it onto tweezers, fixing it with glue;
  • carefully remove - you get a stamen;
  • take pink strips, cut off a semicircle (you can use a paper pattern);
  • heat the edge with fire - it is better to use a candle; use your nails to make a wavy surface;
  • the bottom is folded and fixed with heat;
  • on burgundy blanks, the edge is rounded;
  • held over the fire - it will bend outward - the front side is on top;
  • Make a fold at the bottom, fixing it with fire.

The assembly is done like this:

  • collect the stamens in 3 rows, fixing them with glue;
  • glued pink petals, right side inward - in 3 layers;
  • lay short burgundy blanks inside out, fix with glue;
  • the last row made from long petals, glossy side on the outside;
  • decorated with green leaves.

Wedding bouquet of satin ribbons for the bride

A bouquet decorated with your own hands looks very beautiful and will remain as a souvenir of the wedding. The decoration was originally conceived using brooches, beads, lace, as in the photo. To make a bouquet, you first need to make 19 roses, from white and purple, as, for example, in a video tutorial that you can watch for a better understanding.

To decorate the decoration, you must have:

  • a blank foam ball with a handle;
  • lace;
  • thin lilac satin ribbon;
  • wide – white, purple;
  • decorative elements - beads, brooches.

In addition to a bouquet, using this technology you can make a topiary - a tree of happiness. The assembly is done like this:

  • the handle is wrapped in white;
  • lace is attached to the ball and fixed near the handle;
  • in the lower part, thin lilac strips folded in half are glued - 12 pieces;
  • lace - next row;
  • then folded strips of white and purple ribbons;
  • Roses are tightly glued to the surface of the ball;
  • the bouquet is decorated with decor.

In addition to step-by-step instructions, you will find 30 photo ideas for inspiration, as well as a useful selection of videos.

Master class 1. Twisted rose from a solid ribbon

Let's start, perhaps, with the simplest and most fast way making roses from ribbons with your own hands. Once you master the technique of rolling roses from ribbon, you can make them while sitting in front of the TV. Depending on the width and length of the ribbon used, you can twist both small and lush buds. You can use a ribbon made of any material - organza, satin, cotton and even strips of linen fabric.

Then you will need:

  • Any ribbon - the longer and wider it is, the larger the bud will be. For a medium-sized rose, a 2.5 cm wide ribbon is enough.
  • Thread and needle or hot glue gun.
  • Scissors.

How to twist a rose from a ribbon:

Step 1. Straighten and place the tape in front of you, then bend one of the ends of the tape (either) along the bias, as shown in Fig. 1.

Step 2. Wrap the tip of the ribbon into a roll two or three times to form the core of the rose, fix its lower part with glue or simply sew it (see Fig. 2).

Step 3. Now we begin to form the rose petals. To do this, bend the tape again obliquely to the outer side (see Fig. 3) and wrap it around the core of the rose, holding (and, if desired, fixing with thread/glue) the entire workpiece from below (see Fig. 4).

Step 4. Next, continue to “build up” the layers of “petals” according to the following scheme: bend the ribbon outward - wrap the bud - bend the ribbon outward - wrap the bud, etc. (see Fig. 5). Periodically fix the layers of tape at the base of the bud with glue or thread and a needle. Remember that the most important thing is not to let the ribbon unravel.

Experienced decorators can twist a rose by fixing the layers of tape only a couple of times (at the beginning and at the end), but for beginners it is easier to stitch/glue the “petals” of a rose much more often.
It is more convenient to roll a rose by holding the base of the bud between your index and middle fingers, so that the flower seems to be lying in your palm.

Step 5. When the rose reaches the desired size, press the end of the ribbon to the base and tie/glue (Fig. 6).

Practice curling roses from ribbons of different widths and lengths, experiment with the angle of the ribbon, the number of folds per layer, or the tightness of the twist to achieve the effect you like best. So, for example, a rose twisted from ribbon can be very multi-layered or, conversely, softer, have sharper corners or, conversely, rounded.
If you have any questions, we suggest watching a video on how to make a flower from a satin ribbon with your own hands using this technique.

Master class 2. Realistic flowers from ribbons (peonies, roses or ranunculus)

Now we suggest you familiarize yourself with the technique, following which you can achieve the most realistic and elegant look of petals, which is only possible for flowers made by yourself. Take a look at this selection of photos and see for yourself.

Despite all the beauty and apparent complexity, even a beginner can make such flowers from ribbons with his own hands.

You will need:

  • Candle or lighter.
  • Ribbon 5 cm wide (for a medium peony) made of 100% polyester (it can be either rayon/satin or organza). Please note that the tapes are made from natural materials won't fit. If you want to make a large and lush peony, then you can use either more petals and/or a ribbon 7-8 cm wide.
  • Scissors.
  • Needle and thread to match the ribbon.

How to make a peony with your own hands:

Step 1. Cut the ribbon into squares in the following sizes and numbers:

5×7 cm (6-10 pcs);
4×6 cm (6-10 pcs);
3×5 cm (6-10 pcs);
2×4 cm (6-10 pcs).
As a result, you should have a minimum of 24 and a maximum of 40 squares. The more petals you make, the more magnificent and larger the bud will be.

Step 2. Now arrange the groups of squares into piles. Then cut out petals from each stack (the shape is shown in the picture below). Keep in mind that accuracy is not important here, everything can be done by eye, without measurements and without using templates. The main thing is that you get petals of different sizes: very large - large - medium - small.

Step 3. It's time for the fun part - giving shape and volume to our petals. To do this, light a candle or lighter and, holding the edges of the petal at a distance of about 2 cm from the fire, melt them (but do not scorch them!). Rotate the petal smoothly but quickly. This way you need to process all your workpieces.

If you want the petal to become more rounded, hold it over the fire a little longer, but do not reduce the distance from the fire. However, sometimes petals slightly blackened by fire look quite organic.

Step 4. Take one of the smallest petals, roll it into a roll and make a couple of stitches in its lower part to secure it. You now have the core of your flower.

Step 5. Attach a second small petal and secure it with a couple of stitches. Continue attaching the petals one after another, maintaining a checkerboard pattern. When you are done with the small petals, start attaching the middle petals, then the larger ones, and finally the largest ones.

Flowers made from ribbons in two shades

Flowers made from ribbons of the same shade

Well, that's all, the peony is ready!

Using the same principle, but by changing the number, shape, size and color of the petals, as well as adding stamens from beads or floss threads, you can create roses, tulips, poppies or ranunculus.

Following our master class, you can make flowers not only from satin ribbons, but also from organza. Why not use old ribbons for baby bows?

Master class 3. Simple flowers from ribbons in 5 minutes

If you need to make flowers from ribbons with your own hands as quickly as possible, for example, for gift wrapping, then this step-by-step instruction will help you out.

What you will need:

  • Any tape;
  • Beads;
  • Scissors;
  • Hot glue gun.

How to make a flower from ribbon:

Step 1. Cut out a small circle with a diameter of about 5 cm from cardboard or thick paper. This circle will become the base of your flower and will be hidden under the petals, so it does not need to be cut out carefully.

Step 2. Start gluing the tape to the top edge of the circle, creating a pleat as shown in the photo below.

Step 3. Continue applying the tape in a spiral pattern in 3 or more layers. When you reach the center, cut off the excess tape, fold the end under, and carefully glue it in place.

Step 4. Place a large dot of hot glue in the center of the flower and quickly fill it with beads.

Master class 4. Small textured flower made from wave braid

If you want to decorate a ring, headband, brooch or necklace with a flower, then a rose made from wave braid is best suited. After all, it turns out so neat, strong, elegant and small.

What you will need:

  • A wave braid of medium width and a length of 50-60 cm (for one rose) or two ribbons of different colors of the same width, 25-30 cm long (if you want to make a two-color rose). However, the length can be longer or shorter, it depends on what size you want to make the bud.
  • Scissors.
  • Sewing machine.
  • Threads with a needle to match the braid.

Step 1. Take two wave braids of the same length and intertwine them together as shown in the photo. Before you start weaving, secure the two ribbons with some kind of clamp so that they do not unravel.

Step 2. Machine stitch along the edge of your piece to secure the weave.

If you don't have a machine, it doesn't matter. Just run large stitches along the entire length of the braid.

Step 3. To make the flower, simply start rolling the ribbon at one end, securing the layers in place with hot glue.

Step 4. When you're done, you should have a bud that looks something like this. Simply tuck the remaining end of the braid under the flower and secure it with glue.

Step 5. Glue a small circle of felt, cardboard or thick fabric to the base. In the future, you can glue anything to this base - from a hairpin to a ring.

Step 6. Have you noticed that all the petals of our flower are closed? In this form, it looks more like a peony or ranunculus. If you want the flower to become a rose, simply spread each petal outward one by one.

Master class 5. Poinsettia with leaves

It's time to tell you how to make poinsettias from ribbons, which can be used to decorate anything, for example, an autumn wreath as in the photo below.

What you will need:

  • Ribbon 4-6 cm wide in red, cream or any other desired shade;
  • Green ribbon (for leaves) 2-3 cm wide;
  • Scissors;
  • A needle and thread to match the ribbon for the petals or thin copper wire (jewelry);
  • Beads;
  • Hot glue.

How to make a poinsettia from ribbons:

Step 1. Cut three pieces of equal length from the tape. How long should the segments be? It depends on what size flower you need. If you want to make a flower with a diameter of 12 cm, then the segments should be exactly this length.

Step 2. Give the resulting rectangles a diamond shape. You can do this in the following way: stack the pieces on top of each other, fold the stack in half, then give the resulting square a triangle shape by cutting off the excess on the sides. Voila, you've got diamonds!

Step 3. Pinch each diamond in the middle and tie the folds with thread (you can do a couple of stitches) or jewelry wire.

Step 4. Place all three pieces next to each other, then tie them with thread or jewelry wire to create a flower. Adjust the petals if necessary.

Step 5. Glue several stamen beads into the center of the flower.

Step 6. Now let's move on to the leaves. Cut two lengths of 6-9 cm from the green ribbon (the length of the pieces should be approximately three times the width of your green ribbon). Place one of the rectangles on the table, wrong side up. Bend its right side downwards along the bias so that the workpiece takes on an L-shape (see photo). Now fold your letter G in half to create a house-shaped piece with a roof. Gather the bottom of the “house” with a couple of stitches or glue.

Step 7 Now the leaves can be glued/sewn to the back of the poinsettia, to a felt round base (if there is one), or directly to a decorative object (headband, pillow, etc.).

Master class 6. Lace ribbon flower

And finally, we present another express method for making a simple but beautiful flower with your own hands. The principle of operation in this technique is similar to that described in MK No. 3, but instead of glue, a thread with a needle is used to fix the craft, and instead of a satin ribbon, a lace ribbon is used. However, you can use any other one. From lace flowers Makes wonderful brooches and hair clips.

What you will need:

  • Lace ribbon;
  • Scissors;
  • Needle and thread to match the ribbon;
  • Beads;
  • Hot glue.

How to make a lace flower:

Step 1. Baste the tape along the bottom edge using wide stitches.

For a medium size, which can be used to decorate a headband, hairpin or clothing, you need to use a 5 cm wide ribbon. To make petals, cut the ribbon into equal squares. After this, fold each square diagonally (as shown in the photo) and lower the side corners to the central one.

Bring the side corners of the resulting diamond back and firmly pinch the cut from below with tweezers. If the cut is uneven, trim it with scissors and then melt it on a candle. As a result, a round petal came out. Then do a few more in the same way.

Then gather the petals onto a thread, close it into a ring, forming a flower, and glue it to the base, and on top fasten the middle for kanzashi or a regular button covered in satin. That's all, the decoration is ready.

You can very quickly make flowers in another way. To do this, cut the tape into pieces of 10 centimeters. You can do them different sizes to make the flowers look more natural. Carefully melt the sections on a candle so that dark, unsightly sagging does not form.

Along the bottom, make a loose stitch with strong thread. And then pull each section together to form a petal. Next, assemble a flower from the finished petals: fix small pieces in the center, and large pieces closer to the edges. Glue a button into the center.

You can decorate flowers with white narrow ribbons, for example, make stamens out of them. Finally, fold the collected flowers into a composition and attach to the base using a glue gun.

Pull the end of the thread, pull the petal and make 8 of them bigger size, tightening loosely. Tie the ends of the thread in a tight knot so that the petal does not fall apart.

Make two petals from the green ribbon, which will ultimately become the sepals of the product.
