Kolya is going to school. From the new book

Flamingo in earflaps

Chapter 1. Meeting with Santa Claus

In Kolya’s house there was a fluffy New Year tree, which was decorated wooden Toys, gingerbread and nuts wrapped in gold foil. A silver star sparkled at the top of the tree.

Kolya’s unruly curls the color of forest honey were pressed by a red cap, Kolya himself, together with his mother and grandfather, sat at festive table. The clock was about to strike 12. Kolya loved New Year more than a birthday, because on his birthday only he was given gifts, and he was the only one who was truly happy, and on New Year’s he also gave gifts to everyone, so everyone was happy.

Without waiting for the night, Kolya presented gifts to his parents and grandfather on the morning of December 31, and now he couldn’t wait to receive his own.
“Santa Claus is about to come, but dad is still not there...” said Kolya.
- Does Santa Claus know what to give you? - Grandfather asked.
- Certainly! I sent him 7 emails: 2 in the summer, 2 in the fall, and 3 more right before the new year.

In his letters, Kolya asked Santa Claus to give him a costume of a famous superhero, magic wand from a book about sorcerers, a buildable model of a starship traveling between galaxies, and the One Ring from a story about hobbits.
All this was to become exhibits of his Museum of Miracles, for which Kolya had already decorated a corner of his room. Kolya considered all the super heroes and wizards, star warriors and knights his friends. But best friend for Kolya there was Santa Claus.

Heavy footsteps were heard in the corridor. Kolya lost his breath. A tall Santa Claus, wearing a red caftan and with a long gray beard, squeezed through the doorway. He brushed the snow off his shoulders and threw a large sack onto the floor, groaned, and then told the story of his long journey on a reindeer sled from the North Pole and, finally, reached into the sack for gifts for Kolya. Mom and grandfather laughed and clapped, but Kolya’s face remained gloomy. When Santa Claus gave Kolya his last gift, his mother asked her son:
- Kolya, what should I say to Grandfather Frost?
- Santa Claus, why do you have the same glasses as my dad? - asked Kolya.

There was silence.
- And why do you have his shoes? And the clock? And the voice is the same...

Kolya suddenly realized everything.
- Dad, take off your suit and sit down at the table, you want to eat.

Chapter 2. A miracle falls from the sky

The next day Kolya sat in his room and looked through a comic book with a bored look.
- There are no superheroes. Surely these are just someone’s fathers in disguise...

He put the comics aside in the corner where they were piled new Year gifts. He no longer wanted to open the Museum of Miracles.

Kolya’s mother came to see her:
- Maybe you’ll still come with us?

Kolya shook his head and his mother left him alone. This evening the whole town gathered in the main square to watch something that happens only once every 10 years: a rocket takes off from a nearby cosmodrome, and before it disappears into the sky, it will be possible to get a good look at its shiny body.

Kolya’s school friends, with whom he had been waiting for this event for a year, did not let up:
- This is a real miracle! The rocket will fly to other galaxies, the astronauts will see aliens and meet star warriors!

But after Kolya found out that Father Frost was his father, he stopped believing in miracles:
“This is not a miracle - it’s just science,” said Kolya, “and there are no star warriors - these are actors in suits, you look like little ones...

Everyone left, and Kolya was left alone. He took a saucer, poured cherry and apricot jam into it, and sat down with the treat by the window. The sunset slowly spread across the sky, as if on a plate: pink foam clouds rolled onto the transparent amber horizon. A low hum was heard. It was a rocket flying. But she was not visible from Kolya’s window.

It’s also a miracle for me... A rocket is like an airplane, only without wings and with a very powerful engine... - said Kolya and spat out cherry pit out the window. And at that moment something equally pink flew out of the pink cloud, rushed to the ground at high speed and plopped down into a snowdrift that looked like a large pillow.

Kolya jumped into his boots and ran out into the street. In the snow, curled up in a ball, sat a bird of extraordinary beauty. It was as if she had bathed in cherry jam, because from beak to tail she was pink. It was a flamingo. Kolya carefully took him and carried him home. In the corner of his room, where the Museum of Wonders was to open, he laid out a blanket and placed the chilled bird there, and then covered him with a woolen sweater that his grandfather had knitted for him. The flamingo hid its beak under its wing and fell asleep.

“Wow,” thought Kolya, “flamingos are in our area. And how good it is that I didn’t go to look at this rocket!”

Chapter 3. What is his name?

creaked Entrance door. From the corridor came the excited voices of parents discussing the flight of the rocket. She flew so low that someone in the crowd saw the astronaut in the window, waving at them. But as soon as mom and dad entered Kolya’s room and saw their guest, all impressions of the rocket were forgotten.

Dad praised Kolya for the nest he made from blankets, and mom went to the kitchen to find food for the bird. But the flamingo refused everything that was offered to him.

Apparently, flamingos eat something else,” said Dad.
- We need to urgently call grandfather! - Kolya decided.

Grandfather immediately said that they love flamingos the most:
- Shrimps! Pink shrimp!

Kolya ran to the store and brought shrimp. As soon as the flamingo smelled the sea, his appetite awoke and he began to snap shrimp like seeds.

And grandfather and Kolya laid out a map of the world on the table and began to wonder how this heat-loving bird ended up in their snowy lands.
“From here,” grandfather put his finger on northern Kazakhstan, “flocks of flamingos fly here for the winter,” he moved his finger and circled Africa and Spain.
- But due to the strong wind, this flamingo lost its way and ended up with us.

Kolya and grandfather looked at the flamingos. With a serious look, he continued to eat the shrimp, placing their shells in a neat pile on the plate.
“How will you address him,” grandfather asked Kolya?

Kolya thought about it. Flamingo was a resident of southern countries, which means...
- Santiago. His name is Santiago.
- Beautiful name! I think when he hatched from the egg, mom and dad named him the same.

Chapter 4. Santiago reads books

Kolya spent all his free time with Santiago. He hand-fed him, talked to him, and when Kolya read books aloud to him, Santiago cheered up and listened attentively. But soon something amazing happened. As soon as Kolya finished reading the story about the Goldfish and said the name of the next one, Santiago opened his beak, took the book from Kolya and placed it in front of him. It was a fairy tale about the Firebird. Kolya decided that Santiago was looking at the colorful picture, but then he noticed that the flamingo’s eyes were running over the lines. Santiago then turned the page. Then another, and another, and so on until the very end of the book. There was no doubt - he read.

Yes, yes, in front of Kolya sat a flamingo who could read.

Santiago was still weak, and to while away the long hours in his blanket nest, he read books. First, I read all the comics, a stack of which stood in the corner. Having finished reading the comics, I switched to books from Kolya’s top shelf - adventure stories, encyclopedias and even school textbooks. Then it came to the parental library. Dad was surprised: Santiago read the most serious adult books, handling them very carefully.

What a learned flamingo flew to us, - said dad.

Waking up one morning, Kolya noticed that Santiago was standing in the famous flamingo pose - on one leg. Kolya jumped out from under the blanket and performed a dance of joy. After all, this meant that Santiago was on the mend. At school, Kolya barely made it to the last lesson. Hearing the bell, he jumped out of the classroom and rushed home. He couldn't wait to hang out with Santiago.

But at home an empty room and an open window awaited him. Santiago flew away...

Chapter 5. Wing Training

Kolya looked out into the street and saw a pink silhouette gliding against the background of blue snow. Each flap of his wings was given to Santiago with great difficulty, he sank lower and lower, and, exhausted, landed on the playground of the neighboring yard.

Kolya once again saved him from the cold and brought him home. To prevent Santiago from catching a cold, Kolya gave him freshly cooked hot shrimp with honey. But on this day he did not read books to him, as usual, and did not offer to play. He didn't approach Santiago at all. Kolya was offended by him. And only in the evening Kolya decided that it was time to make peace.
- Well, why did you decide to fly away? Did we feed you poorly? Or are the books in our library uninteresting? Stay and wait out the winter with us, and in the spring you will fly to Kazakhstan again.

Flamingo shook his head. Kolya knew that he understood everything. And Kolya also knew that although Santiago understood everything, he could not say anything. But Santiago knows the alphabet! Kolya placed in front of him a board with magnetic letters and figures of various animals.
- Tell me why you want to fly away now. Just make words from letters...

Santiago looked at the board. Then he stretched out his long neck, took the magnet with his beak and placed it in the center of the board. But it was not a letter, as Kolya had hoped, but a flamingo figurine.
- Yes, it’s you!

Santiago craned his neck again and placed a second one exactly the same opposite the first figure. And to this pair I added two more flamingos, only small ones.
“So you have a family there,” Kolya guessed everything, “why didn’t you tell me right away!”

Now Kolya understood why Santiago was in such a hurry to fly away.
- I have a plan. You'll see, very soon we'll put you on the wing again.

And that same evening Kolya wrote a training program for Santiago that would strengthen his wings and prepare him for a long flight.

The next morning, Kolya was racing across the field on skis, and Santiago was flying next to him - so the friends competed in speed. Santiago was wearing a hat with earflaps, which Kolya wore when he was very little, now it fit the bird’s head.
The ski track was long. Snow-covered fields with tracks of hares, an ice-covered river that looked like a hidden snake, and an amusement park sleeping under the snow rushed past. Halfway through the route, Santiago took the lead, but then his wings got tired and Kolya was the first to reach the finish line.

Then the friends had an agility exercise. They stood away from each other, Kolya threw a frisbee, and Santiago had to catch it with his beak. The plate flew now to the right, now to the left, and sometimes Kolya launched it high into the sky. And although Santiago spent most of his life on the beaches, this was his first time playing this beach game. Often he failed to catch the slippery plate, and then he had to fish it out of the deep snowdrifts.

Santiago really liked the games, and he performed a beautiful dance in the air, and Kolya looked at him and sang songs that he composed on the go.

Chapter 6. Trouble at school

Due to training and games with Santiago, Kolya had no time left for homework. And after the science lesson, in his diary, with a red pen, the figure of a flamingo was drawn - a big two. Kolya was upset because the science teacher, Galochkin, was very strict, and in order to correct the grade, it was necessary to prepare a report on the topic of the surrounding nature. Santiago came up to him and hugged him with his wing. Now he decided to help Kolya.

The lesson has come. Kolya went to the board. Galochkin walked past him.

How will you surprise us, Kolya? To correct your grade, you need to get an A,” Galochkin said.

He scratched his huge red ears with a long pointer. Kolya began to talk about what he had recently found out everything about - about flamingos. His classmates learned that flamingos create families and live together all their lives, and in one flock there can be thousands and thousands of families. They spend time near salt lakes and rivers, where they feed on crustaceans and shrimp, and because crustaceans are pink, the feathers of flamingos also turn pink when the bird is three years old. They have four toes on each foot, and to wash the salt off their feet, flamingos fly to bodies of fresh water. And in different seasons, flamingos live in Africa, Spain, the Caucasus and even Siberia.

Two for you, Kolya! Deuce! - Galochkin waved a pointer in front of the boy's face, - there are no flamingos in Siberia!
“You open the window,” Kolya asked.
- Why else?
- You wanted to be surprised.

Galochkin muttered, but still headed to the window. As soon as he pulled back the latch, a whirlwind of pink feathers and snow flakes burst into the classroom. It was Santiago. He flew up to Kolya and stood next to him.

The guys jumped up from their seats and ran towards Santiago with a cheerful roar. They examined and stroked the amazing bird. Children from neighboring classes came running at the noise, and the school principal came after them.
“This is Santiago,” Kolya said to the children, “let’s feed him.”

Kolya gave the guys a bag of shrimp, and they began to hand-feed Santiago. But this infuriated Galochkin. He ran up to Santiago and began to chase him away.
- Get out of here! There are no flamingos in Siberia! Shoot, scatter!

But instead of flying away, Santiago bit Galochkin on the big red ear, because it looked exactly like a boiled shrimp.

Ay! - Galochkin shouted and grabbed his ear, - deuce for you, Kolya, deuce! Get out of here with your bird!

Galochkin was spinning in place, and Santiago continued to pinch his ears. The children laughed for a long time, but the director laughed loudest of all. And for such a wonderful lesson, he himself gave Kolya an A.

Chapter 7. Kolya grew wings

After Santiago visited the school, the whole city learned about him. People began to come to Kolya to see and meet the flamingos. Everyone brought some kind of treat or book with them. Santiago was very glad that he had made many friends; he met them in his corner, where Kolya once planned to open the Museum of Miracles.

One day, Galochkin and his old mother came to visit Kolya and Santiago. He stopped sulking at Santiago and brought him a pot of the biggest shrimp. Flamingo and the teacher became friends. But before leaving, Galochkin whispered in his mother’s ear, just as big and red:
- I’m sure that Kolya went ahead and painted an ordinary bird pink. Well, there are no flamingos in Siberia!

Now Kolya and Santiago went out for a walk and, together with the rest of the guys, sledded down a long hill. Each time, Santiago, sitting behind everyone, opened his large pink wings, and it seemed as if the sled with the children was about to take off like a hang glider.

At night, the friends had the same dream, as if Kolya had grown wings, and he and Santiago were flying over the seas, where electric stingrays glide in the waters and mysterious jellyfish flicker, over high mountains, where leopards polish rocks with wool, over tropical forests, where vines stretch under the weight of gibbons, and over deserts in which monitor lizards count grains of sand.

Chapter 8. Kolya prepares Santiago for the journey

The next morning Kolya woke up because Santiago pulled the blanket off him. Skis were already waiting for Kolya in front of the bed. Santiago proposed to organize the race again.
- Let’s invite grandpa with us this time! - said Kolya.

Grandfather didn’t have to be persuaded. And within half an hour all three were on the ski track. Kolya rushed at speed reindeer, but this time Santiago was faster and reached the finish line even before his grandfather.

Santiago's wings became strong again. The friends returned home tired and happy. In the evening, when Colin's dad was sitting with a mug of bitter coffee and watching the news on TV, Santiago settled down on the sofa next to him. He was interested in the weather forecast. The winds and snowfalls in Siberia had ended, and calm, clear days lay ahead.

Santiago returned to his corner and stood on one leg. Kolya understood everything - his friend was getting ready to hit the road again. Kolya was glad, because soon Santiago would meet his family. But at the same time Kolya felt sad, because he didn’t want to part with his friend at all.

Kolya took a sheet of paper, brushes, paints and drew himself and Santiago.
“This is our common portrait,” Kolya said and showed the picture to Santiago.

Santiago dipped his paw into pink paint and left his print on the sheet.
“Now we both had a hand in this drawing,” Kolya was delighted.

Kolya hung the drawing on the wall next to the blanket nest. And then he started packing a travel backpack for Santiago.

This is so you don’t get hungry,” and Kolya put shrimp in his backpack.
“This is so you don’t get lost,” Kolya put a world map in his backpack.
- And this is for him to write to me emails, - Kolya put a piece of paper with his email address in his backpack pocket.

Santiago looked at Kolya in surprise.

Yes, I know, I know that flamingos cannot write or send emails. But when you stop with someone along the way, ask them to send me a letter from you.

Kolya put a hat with earflaps on Santiago’s head, and then the flamingo wrapped his long pink neck around Kolya’s neck. The friends stood for a long time, hugging each other.

And then Santiago flew away. In the evening of this day the sunset sky again turned amber and pink colors, just like the day Santiago fell into the snowdrift. Kolya mixed peach and cherry jam and ate it until nightfall, sitting by the window.

Chapter 9. Museum of Wonders

Several days passed before he heard from Santiago. There were boxes in the room where Kolya put comics, toys and other things that he once intended to exhibit in his Museum of Wonders.
And then a letter arrived in his email. It was from a boy in Uzbekistan with whom Santiago stopped along the way. The letter contained photographs of flamingos against the background of the same pink desert sands. Kolya danced a dance of joy, and then printed out the photo and hung it in the corner where Santiago slept.
A day later another letter arrived - this time from Georgia. There, a granite mountain with a snowy peak rose above Santiago. Then another and another came, letters came every day - from Turkey, from Greece, Italy and, finally, from Africa. Kolya saw half the world through the eyes of his friend.

One day, Kolya’s mother came into his room. In the corner where the nest had once been hung all the photographs of Santiago.

This is a real Museum of Miracles! - Mom said.

Let's sing a song

About how fun we live.

The song “Adults and Children” is performed

Words by M. Tanich

It’s wonderful to ride on your dad’s shoulders,

Reach the top of your head to the “Stop!” signal.

Dads, even important ones, are all one-story,

And so - with the addition, dad is a skyscraper.

Chorus:

Inseparable friends (2 times)

Available in this world.

Inseparable friends (2 times)

Adults and children.

What a delicious high-calorie bun!

The guard is not angry, the transport will wait!

Mom crosses the street two-part series

And he leads the second series by the hand.

Chorus.

Children can sail the sea as captains,

Doctor's drops treat runny noses,

Operate obedient tower cranes –

They just need to be taught this.

Chorus.

Piano. "Variations" on the theme of Russian folk songs. Performed by Margarita Karapetyan

Piano. "Swing". Performed by Ozol Ekaterina

Grandfather solves the equation

Everyone is sitting with their lessons -

Here's our family contract.

32 students. My dad is a craftsman,
Dad is not bored:
My dad can do everything -
Skillful fingers!
I learned from my father
I know all the tricks
Even against the wall all the way
I'm hammering nails!

33 student. Mama made mine
From warmth and affection,
I often fall asleep
With mom's fairy tale!
If resentment burns me -
Didn't solve the problem
I'm on my mother's shoulder
At least I'll cry a little...

34 student. I go to the pond with my grandfather,
We have fishing there
But the fish don't bite
Which, of course, is a pity!
Four or five days
We don't bring fish...
Grandma will say again:
“And thanks for that!”

35 student. My grandmother knows
Lots of stories.
My grandmother teaches me
Knitting skills.
We are preparing lunch with her -
Deadlines are running out -
Borscht, cutlets, vinaigrette,
And more... lessons!

36 student. Dads, moms, we are for you

Let's sing a song now.

The song “Land of Children” is performed music S. Banevich, lyrics. T. Kalinina

Childhood begins with mother's smile,

From a lullaby, from surprised dreams.

Childhood begins at grandfather's gate,

WITH Christmas tree, from the very first words.

Chorus: I like to look out the window in the evenings,

Even if it's already dark there, I believe:

A new day will begin!

The sun will wake up, mom will smile,

A new day will begin!

In childhood, the light of a distant star seems close to us,

There are flocks of clouds near the windows.

From the threshold why roads run into the distance

And big rivers are children of springs.

Chorus.

37 student. We read, wrote, counted.

We ran, jumped, drew,

Sang songs about everything in the world -

After all, we are very cheerful children.

The comic song “I’ll tell you a secret” is performed.

I'll tell you a secret:
I'll go to school soon -
They tell me: “You’ve grown up,”
And I like it in the garden.

Chorus:

You can run, you can jump,
You can play ball
Shout with friends together
And sleep and take a walk.
You can sing whenever you want
And tease the girls

I will go to kindergarten!

I don't want to learn lessons
I want to play all day!

The cheerful sun is pouring

Golden streams

Over the gardens and over the villages,

Over fields and meadows.

Chorus:

It's raining mushrooms here,

Colored rainbows shine,

Here are simple plantains

Since childhood we have been dearest.

Poplar powder

They circled around the edge of the forest.

And scattered throughout the grove

Strawberry freckles.

Chorus.

And they started burying me again

Flocks of swallows over the house.

To sing about the Motherland again

Familiar bells.

Chorus.

45 student. Comrade parents,

Our camp is not far away -

Would you like to join us?

Go for a day?

46 student. Good company,

Happy time -

Walking and swimming

Conversations around the fire.

47 student. And the sun in the clear blue

Can't take his eyes off the guys

Until autumn, until autumn,

Farewell, beloved class!

Awards for students and parents

After the summer holidays, the children have long been at their desks, and I remembered that earlier I started writing a note about how to prepare for school. I always liked the time on the eve of a wonderful holiday, when all the children summer holiday going to school. And like many mothers, I think about how to choose clothes for their children. Since at my children’s school there is not even a rule about school uniforms, but a certain dress code, all schoolchildren from the first to the eleventh grade adhere to it.

Why did I remember this note? Today I was talking to a friend and we discussed outerwear for our schoolchildren. She sent me this link, there is a cashmere coat that she bought for her twin girls for the fall, and now she is looking for something for the winter, the cold is very soon. And don't touch school clothes we could not. We discussed the importance and needs, and after the conversation I remembered this note. I thought that if I didn’t publish it now, it would simply get lost among other notes. And the topic is relevant - how to properly dress a schoolchild so that his outfit not only complies with school rules, but also pleases the child himself? We'll talk about this today.

What to wear for a girl

1. School uniform

A young lady's school suit must comply not only with the rules of the dress code, but also with the canons of femininity. Clothes should be made from high-quality fabric, ideally suit the girl in size and style, taking into account all the features of the figure. An excess of guipure, lace, velvet and satin, and variegated colors are inappropriate in a school uniform.

A formal school suit can be transformed by pairing it with an unusual blouse, bolero or tie of the appropriate color and fabric texture.

2. School sundress

A school sundress, like a school uniform, can look interesting and fashionable. To do this, you can experiment with knee socks and blouses, which can be decorated with strips of lace, bows, studs or zippers.

In addition, the look can be completed with a tie, knitted cardigan or a sweater in the cold season.

In addition to school sundresses and suits, a girl can also dilute her wardrobe with a couple of beautiful dresses. For the school dress code, dresses in black, gray, dark green, burgundy or purple flowers. Dresses with checkered patterns, small polka dots or vertical stripes look no less interesting. They look quite strict, but at the same time, such a pattern is always in fashion.

4. Girlish accessories

Every schoolgirl should have a lot of jewelry and accessories in stock: bows, removable collars, ties, elastic bands, hairpins, etc. Such elements will help diversify even the most unsightly school uniform.

An integral element of any look are tights or knee socks. Knee socks look beautiful on schoolgirls right up to graduation. In high school, they can be combined with a pleated skirt, as Japanese schoolgirls do.

One more an important detail The image of a schoolgirl is the hairstyle. Students' hairstyles junior classes should be easy to perform and not take up much time in the morning, when the girl is getting ready for school. The most successful hairstyles for schoolgirls primary classes: high ponytail, braid fish tail", French braid.

What to wear for a boy

1. Formal suit

The first thing that should be in every schoolchild's wardrobe is a school uniform. It is not at all necessary to buy a suit consisting of five or six items. Trousers and a jacket of the same style and color are enough, which can be combined with different shirts, vests, ties, etc.

2. Shirts

At least five pieces of different colors for different seasons, with short and long sleeve. They should be combined with any variation of a formal suit and ties if the boy wears them.

A white or gray shirt will go well with a tie of almost any color: from classic black to dark green or burgundy. No less popular are shirts in blue, brown and dark green. In past academic year Checkered shirts have become especially popular: black and white, black and red, blue or green.

3. Half-shirts, cardigans and vests

These wardrobe items are especially good in winter: they are warm, soft, comfortable and comply with both the school dress code and modern fashion. In addition, they can be combined with classic trousers and dark jeans. Both options will look fashionable and mature.

4. Accessories

An equally important part of a student’s wardrobe are accessories and a school bag/briefcase.

For a boy, wonderful accessories would be “adult” watches, several bow ties, warm scarves in winter period, gloves and belts. These “little things” do not distract the attention of other children in class, but create a unique fashionable look.

How to diversify a schoolchild's outfit

Interesting color combinations: dark blue and beige, dark green and red, purple, gray stripes. There are quite a lot of colors that match the dress code, so feel free to experiment.

A variety of fabrics consisting of: viscose, wool, nitron cotton, lavsan, polyester.

Interesting designs and colors: checkered, small polka dots, stripes, “pockmarked” colors. Of course, use in basic wardrobe Schoolchildren should not wear clothes with flowers, stars and bright designs that will distract children from the educational process. But patterns of muted colors will not only help make a student’s outfit more interesting, but will also not contradict the established dress code.

Don't forget the main rule: clothes should not only be comfortable and formal, but also fashionable. And with our simple tips, choosing an outfit for a schoolchild will not be difficult for you.

Memoirs of Vera Grigorievna Lukina (Shemetova), a resident of the village of Most. Born in 1927.
I come from Verkhnyaya Kulta. My maiden name is Shemetova. Our village is small, in the village there is a chapel, a well, and the Kulta River flows. Kulta flows into Onega. We celebrated in the village religious holiday Assumption, it is celebrated on August 28. I lived in this village even during the war.
I was left by my mother for six years, and my brother remained three years. We lived with our aunt and worked on a collective farm from an early age. Our collective farm was called “New Life of the North”.

She did all sorts of work. For two years I carried hay six kilometers away, harvested rye, and knitted sheaves. It was necessary to rob 52 grandmothers, to rob the entire square. It was impossible to go home until the foreman arrived. And the rye was so good that I didn’t even take a sickle. It was necessary to squeeze out three hundred square meters per day. In the winter I walked with cows and calves. Cows and calves stood in the same yard. Summons came from the village council and sent us to the testing. I went to skating for three summers. They cleared the forest in Mastalyga. I lived with an old woman. Her daughters studied with her; they were not at home. She kept a cow, which meant there was food. Then the village council sent me to logging. It’s 10 kilometers from Mastalyga towards Mezhdvorye, I lived there for the winter. I just got home and was almost immediately sent to clear the forest.

Dad was at the front. He came back from the war alive. My father came from the war not to us, but to my stepmother in Konevo. My father got me a job in Konevo. He got me a job at the district committee. Helped me get my passport. Already from the organization I was sent for testing to the Bridge. There were few rooms. We slept on the floor.
Nikolai Grigorievich, my future husband, was already working there, unloading tractor sleighs with timber. We met at logging sites. Six guys were sent from Most to study as tractor drivers in Obozerskaya. Let's go: Fedor Petrunin, Sasha Sgibnev, Stanka Emelyanov (Oktyabrina Lukina's brother), Ivan Lukin and Nikolai. There was also a sixth guy, I don’t remember his last name. After the course, Nikolai transported timber on a tractor. His brother Ivan Grigorievich Lukin also trained as a tractor driver and transported timber. Ivan Grigorievich married Oktyabrina Yakovlevna near the Bridge. She comes from Chazhenga, Emelyanova as a girl. Oktyabrina Yakovlevna came to her brother for May holidays to the Bridge. Here they met and began to live in the Rychkov barracks.
Nikolai and I lived in the Zuev barracks for two years, and then we were given a panel house. He was the last in the line. At that time there was no hostel near the Bridge. Pre-conscripts were brought only for the spring, for rafting. They lived in a club. They made two-tier bunks.

In the mornings, pre-conscripts were sent out to exercise, then they had breakfast and went to work. They built awnings to the dining room, which was located at the Zakatov barracks, put long tables under them and served food through a window. They started doping from Verkhnyaya Ola, because its banks are higher, and then from Verkhnyaya Lelma. Timber was already being driven from Moshi to Onega. Stacks along the Ola River lay on both banks, about two kilometers from the Ukhaba. They rolled it by hand; there were no tractors then. On Lelma, the stacks lay starting from the bridge and down the river. All the banks were covered with forest.
Another thing happened to me at the skating rink. Oktyabrina Lukina and I did the dousing. I don’t know how, but I slid down all the logs into the water. But I can't swim. I scream, but no one comes to me. Then Venya Supakov handed me the gaff, he was even before the army then.
We have lived at the Bridge since 1951. Kolya, our eldest son, was born in 1953 on May 7, Vitya, the middle son, was born on April 25, 1955, and Sasha, our younger son, born April 20, 1957. Nikolai, my husband, was born on May 9, 1925. He comes from Zadnaya Dubrova. Their house is now destroyed.
After marriage, I visited my village twice. Once I went to the Assumption, and the second time my brother Ivanushko took me on a motorcycle. There were other villages nearby our village - Khrulevo, Okulovskaya, Balabanovo, Bersenikha. There was a collective farm office in Okulovskaya. And then there is a bush of villages of Archangelo.
Shura Ushakova (Kharina) was from Bersenikha. Shura gave birth to sons Zhenya and Volodya. Pavel Dmitrienko looked after her well. He worked a lot and helped her a lot. Shura worked in the forest, went to Ust-Khanba to work, and carried little Zhenya with her to work. Nikolai and I just got together, when we were in the middle of nowhere, a neighbor brought a goat: “Hold it.” So we have kept the cozone ever since. I called all the goats sticky. Oh, how I felt sorry for all the little goats. The goats did not have a shepherd; they grazed on their own. She also kept sheep and brought a bag of wool to Konevo.
I did everything myself - spinning, carding. Lace, pendants, curtains - I knitted everything myself, but now I don’t do anything, my eyes can’t see. And I don’t know who taught it. I’ll see what the women do and I’ll repeat it right away. And how many towels I embroidered! She knew how to do everything. Most did not mate with anyone.
My husband was all wounded. There is a shrapnel in my head, a dent in my neck. How he survived, I don't know. He lived well. He never swore. One day I fell under a dump with a measure. They barely pulled me out. I then spent two months in the hospital. While I was in the hospital, Nikolai stopped smoking with me, and began to drink very little. I got scared. His surgeon scared that his wife would be disabled. He was very scared for the children.
We lived with Nikolai for 43 years. What a garden we had near the Bridge! They dug up a hundred bucketfuls of potatoes. Two huge ridges of onions grew. I grew a lot of onions. Rutabaga, turnips - everything was grown, but cabbage did not grow. There was a hostel nearby, but no one ever took a potato without asking. Then they made a good hole. Bulk. The water never came in. A stable and a bathhouse were built. Everything was fine, but the work was hard.

I really love cleanliness. The floors were unpainted back then. It was necessary to shuffle everything. Everything was rustling. Kolya, our eldest son, had Anna Ivanovna Neustroyeva as a teacher. She was so responsible! While parents are at work, no one will be allowed out of school. They sit and play checkers and chess under supervision. She also went to apartments, checking to see if the students had everything they needed to study. She said: “Don’t teach them m-a, m-a. We will teach. And you will buy them everything they need for their studies. And prepare a place to prepare your lessons.” For one of the kids to come to school with a torn button - this never happened with her. The inspectors arrived, and the children were all sitting neat and well-groomed. They didn’t believe it, they said they were preparing for our arrival. She answered them: “Come, at least every day.” Kolya has to go to school, but he doesn’t have a suit. I went to Zoya Antipovna Petrova, she sewed Kolya a suit. He's used to accuracy. Then, when I went to Konevskaya school, people say that your Kolya drives all the way standing. I asked him: “Why don’t you sit in the car?” And he replies: “Mom, why am I going to class in wrinkled trousers?”
Kolya went to the women's bathhouse until the 4th grade. Anna Ivanovna Neustroyeva rubbed it. One day Lyudmila Dmitrievna told him: “You, Kolya, are already big, you need to go to the bathhouse with dad.” My Kolya was lucky with his teacher. At that time, Zhenya Zakatova worked as a teacher in the kindergarten. She treated the children very well. One day I come for him, and she tells me: “Today Kolya did not go to bed during a quiet hour, we talked all the time.”
I didn’t go to the movies, I didn’t have time. I had to keep everything in order. Kolya comes once and persuades me: “Mom, go to the cinema, there’s a two-part Indian movie today.” I went and really liked it. Kolya loved watching movies. Then he helped projectionist Tolya Bykov and stood on control at the club.

There were berries nearby and mushrooms growing nearby at the Bridge, but we had to leave. There is nothing close to Konevo. Afterwards we went for mushrooms to the Kruglisky bridge, it is on the floor - the road to Chazhenga.
I live, I have my own corner. How well we would live now if grandfather were alive. Sometimes I can’t sleep, I remember everything, I think I could write a whole book, I remember so many things.
